Monster of loneliness - Book Vernissage
The clear lines and careful design of the motifs lend the works a special intensity.
Her precise cuts capture the emotions and inner world of the protagonist.
I always thought I liked being alone, but in ‘my safe space’, where there should be a state of familiar silence, it is no longer the same, it now feels as if I am in the midst of many strange eyes and gestures. This feeling of true solitude, without the shape of a human being peeking out from behind the horizon, is the gateway to an untamed, neglected garden filled with the thicket of your own complexity. This is the garden of your true self, without having to play a role. After all, there is no one to play in front of. I too have crossed the threshold and walked through my own dense garden. ‘Monsters of Loneliness’ is a collection of linocuts that reflect what I experienced in this place.
