"Everything’s Fine Here – It’s Just on Fire" is an intimate, home-based exhibition by Sylwia Zawiślak, where personal and political emotions, family tensions, and social anxieties converge. The show features linocuts and objects created during her artistic residency at Laurenz Haus Stiftung in Basel. Works such as “We’re Drowning,” “Poles Fighting Poles Over Polishness,” “Overthinking,” and “Family Celebration” tell stories of a seemingly stable world leaking with unease from the inside.
Sylwia Zawiślak (b. 1991, Rzeszów, Poland) is a visual artist and printmaker. She graduated with an MA in Graphic Arts from the University of Rzeszów in 2015. In her work, she combines traditional printmaking techniques, particularly linocut, with contemporary mixed media approaches. She is currently an artist-in-residence at Laurenz Haus in Basel (2024–2025). Zawiślak is the recipient of numerous awards, including first prize in the 9th National Paweł Steller Linocut and Ex Libris Competition in Katowice. Her works have been exhibited in solo and group shows in Poland and abroad.
